
The Minato libraries show many kinds of movies, such as nostalgic films and Asian films. "Movie Hours for Peace" are shown to maintain the memories of war and to stress determination to maintain peace for the next generation.

Minato Cineclub plays premier movies with comments by film analysts. It features a presentation on the fourth Saturday of even months (February, April, etc.) and on the third Saturday in December.

Children's Movie Hours are held at each library. Enjoyable movies are screened for young children and their parents.

Story Hours is the place for children to encounter books, and this event is held regularly at each library. Not only do children enjoy readings, they also experience a deepened spiritual exchange with their parents.

Each library holds many seasonable events such as the Origami workshop, summer vacation craft workshop, puppet plays, and a Christmas event.

Get the feel for concerts with DVDs. Many items are shown, such as classic and popular music. DVD concerts are held twice a month at the Minato Library

A healthy mind is important to every child. Our libraries constantly work to nurture young minds through the pleasures and joys of reading. As part of this young people's reading program, they have prepared a special gift of one book for every baby born after April 1, 2006, Parents or guardians are welcome to bring their newborn infants in to any of the six Minato City libraries to receive this gift.
